On January 16, 1942, American pilot Harold Dixon (played by Garrett Dillahunt), bombardier Tony Pastula (played by Tom Felton), and radio operator Gene Aldrich (played by Jack Abernethy) were ordered to carry out a mission. However, the plane had to make an emergency landing due to fuel exhaustion, forcing the three men to abandon the aircraft and escape. They had no food, no fresh water, and no supplies, crowded into a yellow life raft about 3 square meters in size, drifting in the dangerous South Pacific, waiting for rescue.
